Hi, I’m April Weaver.
Are you tired of being stuck in negative emotions? Are you worn out from feeling mentally unwell? Are you searching for ways to better adapt to life’s stressors, transitions and losses?
I am excited to join you on this journey and help you discover ways to live with a healthier mind, body, soul and spirit.
I graduated with a bachelors degree in 2005 and started my career in social work as a foster care and adoption caseworker at COBYS Family Services. I went on to earn my graduate degree in Clinical Social Work in 2011 from Temple University. After obtaining my license, I worked as a play therapist, behavioral specialist, and as a psychotherapist with a focus on working with parents and families. I have experience and trainings in attachment issues, expressive therapies, intergenerational trauma, depression and anxiety, chronic illness, rewiring the nervous system, grief and loss, neurodiversities, trauma therapy, couples therapy, parenting issues, adoption and fostercare and postpartum and perinatal issues.
Upon request, I can offer Christian, faith based approaches for those looking to incorporate their spiritual lives into the therapy. I am careful to address any spiritual trauma and abuse and will tailor the sessions to meet each person where they are at in their journey.
